Black Joy Parade is a hyper-positive, family-friendly event to celebrate the Black experience past, present, and future. It is the largest free, family-friendly event of its kind. You’re invited to come to be present, be creative, be open, and be free.
The parade begins on 14th and Franklin Street in downtown Oakland at 12:30 pm (lasting about 2 hours). There will also be a Festival Site, located at 19th and Franklin, that features a curation of performances, food and drink, and Lil Joy (children’s zone). Last year, there was a gaming area, roller skating rink, and more. The event closes at 7 pm.
