Earth Day Cleanup - 510 Families

Earth Day Cleanup

Help make Berkeley a cleaner, greener place by volunteering to pick up litter and beautify the shoreline! Learn from local organizations and the City of Berkeley about ways to combat plastic pollution.

Plastic pollution is a huge problem on the shorelines. Plastic does not biodegrade, instead it breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces which end up being mistaken as food by wildlife.

Meet at Shorebird Park Nature Center to receive a service-learning presentation and safety talk on the impact of trash and plastics in the oceans and waterways, and how you can help. Supplies will be handed out along with a map of cleaning locations. Clean for as long as you want and bring the trash back to the Nature Center before you leave.

This is an all-ages event! Please visit naturecenter@berkeleyca.gov if you have a group of more than 10 volunteers.
