The City of Hercules has partnered with the Hercules Library to bring a Juneteenth celebration to the community. Festivities include:

- 10:00 a.m – A special Storytime at the Library featuring Mayor Chris Kelley and Council Member Tiffany Grimsley.
- 11:15 a.m. – Community Flag Raising & Ceremony at City Hall with Khristel Johnson on Telling the History of Juneteenth through Quilted Tapestries, line dancing with the Hercules Senior Center, and a performance of the Black National Anthem by Hercules resident Semoine Sykes.
- 1:00 p.m. – An interactive workshop at the library on quilting in the African American community with with Khristel Johnson, complete with exploring several of her larger-than-life quilts.
Don’t miss The Walking Ghosts of Black History Juneteenth Exhibit and the “What Freedom Means” community art display, available all month long at Hercules Library.
