The Kalimba King - 510 Families

The Kalimba King

Celebrate Juneteenth with an engaging musical experience for the whole family! Join Kalimba King Carl L. Winters as he performs on 15 of his kalimbas—traditional African thumb pianos—sharing music that reflects the rich heritage and cultural legacy of the African diaspora.

Through gospel, jazz, blues, R&B, pop, and original compositions, Carl brings history and storytelling to life.

Children & families will have the opportunity to have a hands-on experience playing the kalimba in this interactive program.

Carl Winters is a retired elementary teacher who performs in solo & ensemble settings and has developed an extensive kalimba songbook.

All are welcome!
