The Story of Three Sisters - 510 Families

The Story of Three Sisters

Join the Richmond Library for a telling of the story of the 3 Sisters: Corn, Bean, & Squash with Alicia Retes. There are many Native American legends about these plant sisters who hold significant spiritual and cultural values. Their stories underscore the power and viability of working together for mutual benefit. An exemplar for us to follow in the communities resulting in respecting differences, common wellness needs, cooperation, abundance and a healthy environment. Enjoy puppets, indigenous songs, chants, and creating corn husk doll puppets. Recommended for children in grades K+ and great for all ages.
