Monkey Business Camp

Offering two 3-week sessions at The Berkeley School, following all Covid protocols. July 6-24 and July 27-Aug 14. Expect unplugged time to connect, with lots of time with activities set up outside. Art, games, bubble dance parties, basketball, simple food projects. Smaller groups of 12 total, so limited spaces. Two full day groups: 8:15-4:45; one part day: 10-3. A couple youth leader spaces/group.

Head Over Heels Camp

Campers, age 3-12, will receive gymnastics instruction from the highly-skilled coaches through all the Olympic events: uneven bars, parallel bars, balance beam, floor & vault. Afternoons are spent fine tuning skills, participating in activity stations, and enjoying in ample free time.

Avid4 Adventure

With a focus on the health and safety of campers and staff, Avid4 has adapted summer programs to dramatically reduce large group contact. Small Group Outdoor Adventures (Pre K - 7th), Camp at Home (1st – 5th), and weeklong online sessions.

Integem Holographic AR Programming & Design Camp

8 students per class. Future-forward programming and design camp lets campers build skills in Holographic AR coding, digital art, game design, 3D modeling, and AI. Students aged 5-18 with all level of computer skills enjoy small classes. Locations in Berkeley, Fremont, and San Ramon.

Aventura! Summer Fun at EBI

Early weeks will be online with in-person camps scheduled for July. EBI summer fun campers, Pre-K to 4th grade, tackle enriching activities in Spanish, STEAM, sports, and the arts led by outstanding faculty and industry partners. Camp schedule was designed for busy families with 7 weekly camps and extended care options.

Gan Israel Day Camp

New location: Outdoor camp at Oakland Hebrew Day School for June 29-July 24. Camp Gan Israel ("Gan Izzy") provides children from diverse Jewish backgrounds with joy and love for the outdoors with field trips, fishing, swimming, gardening, arts and crafts, sports, science, challah baking, and overnights.

24-7 UK Soccer Academy Summer Skills

No June camps, in-person camp expected to begin in July. 24-7 soccer camps have an emphasis on skill development, building of personal goals, leadership and sportsmanship. Choose a program based on your player’s skill level and goals: Fun Camp, Elite Training Camp or Goalkeeper Training Camp.

Shu Ren International School Mandarin Immersion Camp

Smaller camp sizes with increased hygeine measures for K-3rd (pre-K is online only). This popular Mandarin immersion summer camp works for new language learners and native/bilingual speakers alike. Students are exposed to Chinese culture through engaging hands-on, experiential activities. Shu Ren offers both an early childhood (ages 2-4) and a kindergarten-grade 3 camp.

Modified group sizes and hygiene standards this summer. The purr-fect fit for campers who are passionate about pets and want to make a difference for shelter animals -- with safety standards in mind. Jumpin' Gymsters Sports Camps

June camps cancelled. July/August are in the plans. One-stop camp for non-stop fun. LEGO, Ninja Warrior, parkour, gymnastics, sports, science, art, scavenger hunts, and two-week sports and theater camp that ends with a mini-performance by the campers.

Explorers Camp at Chabot Space and Science Center

June camps cancelled. July camps being planned. Calling all young engineers, astronauts, explorers, makers, and problem solvers. Young explorers, ages 6-11, will investigate the Earth, outer space, and beyond through hands-on science, art, and play. Campers examine the universe, conduct experiments, and adventure outdoors.

Cooking Round the World

Limited to 12 students per location. Cooking Round the World camp immerses a child in a cooking and cultural exploration with recipes, folktales, international games, and learn to think critically about the foods we just cooked.

Sees the Day Summer Program

Future Star Baseball Summer Camp

June & July camps cancelled. Coach Ben and his staff are offering a variety of baseball camps for fun and skill building. Players are rewarded for giving positive reinforcement to each other in both competitive and non-competitive games and drills. A team atmosphere is maintained at all times.

Berkeley Forest School

Much smaller group sizes, and specific hygiene and wellness practices. BFS is offering small group Community Connection Camps to help children emotionally process their experiences through art, play, and nature connection, under the open sky. More details on website. Su Yun's Chinese Learning Center Summer Camp

Updated cleaning routines, smaller group sizes, physical distancing strategies, and health screenings in place. Su Yun's provides fun and engaging hands-on summer camps that blend STEM topics, Mandarin language, and outdoor activities. Themes include LEGO, food science, engineering, cooking, makerspace, arts & crafts, etc. No prior language experience required.

One Generation Camp

One Generation Camp is accepting enrollments for 7/13-7/31 session. Campers are in stable groups of 12, following all COVID protocol. One Generation Camp is an outdoor music and dance camp in Tilden park featuring West African hand drumming and dance, Brazilian Capoeira, Storytelling, Yoga and other forms of movement. One Generation focuses on teaching kindness through the arts and building community.

The Crucible

In-person camps scheduled for July with many new safety measures. The Crucible has unique camps for exploring industrial art and getting hands-on in blacksmithing, welding, woodworking, glass blowing, jewelry, and more. Students apply what they’ve learned – creative problem solving, scientific principles, and teamwork – at school and beyond. Ages 8 to 18.

Steve & Kate's Camp

Park Day School 7/27-8/21 in week-long blocks of stable groups of kids. "Less Mix. More Mingle" At Steve & Kate’s, kids try, fail, and learn on their own - because when you trust kids, they trust themselves. Offering a media lab, sewing salon, bakery, karaoke, outdoor recreation, lunch & snacks, and so much more!

Learn to Row at Oakland Strokes

July 20 to 31 only. Ever wanted to try crew? Established in 1974, the Oakland Strokes Rowing Club teaches basic technique, boat handling, and fitness in a fun environment. No previous rowing experience necessary. Open to anyone entering 6th - 12th.

Grades: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th

JCC Camp

Four-week session of in-person camp starts July 6. At JCC camp, children get messy, act silly, sing, dance, and explore with a focus on building friendships and expanding interests. Camp celebrates community-based Jewish values, and welcomes campers of all backgrounds.

Seele Stars Musical Theater Camp

In-person camps are in wait-and-see mode for now. "The Show Must Go Online" available. Seele Stars offers performing arts summer camps taught by a credentialed/master’s degree teacher. Join in to learn, sing, dance, and act each week. The end of this fun experience results in a themed showcase performance highlighting student learning.

Traverse Fitness Ninja Warrior

In person camps starting 6/15 with reduced capacity. Learn to be a real Ninja Warrior. Experienced trainers teach students how to do iconic obstacles like the Warped Wall and Quad Steps. They’ll learn new parkour skills each day, then on Friday put it all together with course runs/competitions.

Play-Well: STEM using LEGO

Online camps plus in-person in El Cerrito in July. Dream it, build it, wreck it, and repeat in LEGO-inspired engineering Summer camps. Engineer interesting projects, think critically, and work collaboratively while learning STEM concepts. Camps include over 20,000 LEGO pieces including Star Wars, Minecraft, and Robotics.

Ultimate Sports Connection Summer Gymnastics Camps

Kids, ages 4 to 12, will “FLIP” over this amazing brand new air-conditioned facility and equipment. Young gymnasts will learn new skills and make friends. Campers gain agility, spatial awareness, discipline and strength all while having fun and learning safety habits. Weekday programs June 29 to August 7. Super Saturday camps are held, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 7/28, 8/1, 8/8. No experience necessary.

East Bay Dance Center Camp

Each week campers will experience many kinds of dance including jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, tumbling and African dance. Camps also feature Drama and Art. Ages 5 to 16.

Trapeze Arts

Many Covid precautions. Campers will learn an array of circus arts including flying trapeze, trampoline, aerial arts, juggling, hand balancing, circus bike, acrobatics, tightwire, and more. Ages 7 to 15.

  1. The Berkeley Chess School offers in-person chess camps for children! Sessions are three weeks long with a stable group of twelve children, all public health orders strictly followed! Mornings with plenty of outdoor sports, games, and art activities, afternoons include engaging chess lecture, chess puzzles, Q & A, games with classmates and post game analysis, recess and sometimes a movie! Beginning, intermediate and advanced sections. The spatial reasoning skill chess teaches is the greatest predictor of success in STEM fields.
