The East Bay Independent Schools K-8 Fair includes free admission to OMCA for participating families. Learn about the wide range of offerings from 21 East Bay area private schools during the fair. The fair is free, children are welcome, and no registration is required. Families who attend will also receive complimentary admission to the Oakland Museum of California for the day.

First, the Schools Fair
Discover the educational possibilities available to your child at the ISSFBA Regional K–8 Independent School Fair. Meet representatives from 21 local independent schools all in one welcoming place.
The fair is designed for families actively exploring kindergarten through eighth-grade options, whether they are beginning a kindergarten search or considering a transition for an upper elementary or middle school student.
Each participating school brings its own distinctive educational philosophy, programs, culture, and community. Together, the schools represent a broad range of learning environments, giving families a valuable opportunity to compare options and begin meaningful conversations with admissions professionals all in a single morning.

Then, Play Time
After the informational conversations, you and your family are free to explore the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) for as long as you’d like. You’ll enter the fabulous nature play space or the garden right next to the information tables.
No registration is required. Families are welcome to arrive anytime during the two-hour fair.
The Oakland Museum of California opens at 11 am. Families attending the fair will receive complimentary museum admission for the day, allowing them to keep exploring together after the school fair.
The fair will be held on the lower level of the Oakland Museum of California, near the koi pond and the Lillie Education Center. Parking is available in the museum garage, and signs will direct visitors from the garage and museum entrances to the fair.
