Kid Report: The Marin County Fair

Our guest reporter today is Chloe C. who will be in third grade in Berkeley when school starts again. She is here to tell us about the Marin County Fair.

Marin County Fair Kids Activities

You should go to the Marin County Fair because there is a lot to do! There are games, rides and shows.

If you go to the fair, make sure you put on sunscreen, and I suggest going early so the lines for the rides are not too long. The fair opens at 11:00 am.

When you get hot, you should go and see the Chinese Circus of Beijing where one acrobat balances on one hand, on top of a stack of chairs balanced on glass bottles really high up. It looked crazy. Or you could go inside and look at the artwork, crafts, and exhibits. Inside there is also a lot to do. I found a Star Wars exhibit, a steam carnival with interactive games, and lots of fun crafts, including lots of stuff made by kids.

One of the rides is The Ring of Fire where you go in a loop the whole time. This looked scary so I didn’t go on this ride, but my brother is ten and it was his favorite ride. They also have this ride where this thing spins so fast that you get stuck to the walls and you can climb them and lay upside down. It was fun!

One of the reasons this fair is great (my mom loves this part) is that the cost of the fair includes the cost of the most rides, even the giant ferris wheel.Marin County Fair

Everyday they have fireworks at 9:30pm. If you plan to stay for the fireworks you should bring a blanket and set it up in the grass early in the day to make sure you get a good seat.

There is also a petting zoo, lots of animals, and the pig races were really fun to watch! I even got a free scoop of super yummy ice cream from Clover Farms.

The 2018 fair runs through June 30 through July 4th, and if you are looking for something to do, this is a fun place.
