National Night Out is Tuesday, August 1, 2023. This annual event, also known as NNO, encourages neighbors to forge stronger relationships with each other, the larger community, and local public officials. Visit the National Night Out website to learn more >
How Families Can Participate in National Night Out
Option 1: Find a National Night Out event on your street or in your neighborhood. These gatherings can take the form of a block party, potluck, ice cream social, or BBQ. Visit your city’s website to find a list of registered parties, or call city hall.
Option 2:Â Organize one for your close neighbors. Often, you can register with your city so others can find your meetup. Plus there’s a chance a local first responder could stop by for a friendly visit.
Option 2: Join a larger city-run National Night Out event. We rounded up a handful of options that welcome families with the goal to have fun among neighbors, safety officials, and civic leaders. These free events take place in parks, libraries, and other spots around town. Most begin in the early evening, but a few have an afternoon start time that may be more accommodating to bedtime schedules. After all, National Night Out is for all!
