Pine Meadow Park is tucked away in a quiet Martinez neighborhood making it a nice spot for families looking to mix up their playground rotation. This all-abilities park is well worth the drive, featuring a unique play structure that kept my kids (ages 3 and 7) happily exploring for quite a while. We visited on a Sunday morning, typically prime playground time, and were pleasantly surprised to have the space almost entirely to ourselves.

Bring bikes or scooters to take advantage of the smooth paths that circle the park, perfect for little riders. There’s also a small grassy area ideal for picnics or a game of tag, plus trails leading up the nearby hill. We didn’t venture that far, but we saw a few hikers (without kids) making their way up. It can get quite warm in Martinez, and while the park’s shade umbrellas help a bit, be sure to bring hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water to stay comfortable.

The Bottom Line on Martinez’s Pine Meadow Park
Pine Meadow Park is a sweet neighborhood spot that’s worth a visit. My kids especially loved exploring the unique play structure; it was a nice change from the parks we usually visit around Berkeley. The wide ramps, accessible design, and spinning merry-go-round kept them entertained, while the swings were a big hit, too. I appreciated that everything was clean and there was plenty of space to run, climb, and explore.
