{Road Trip} Kid-Friendly Glamping Spot 90 Minutes from Bay Area

Looking for a fun, family-friendly vacation spot for an easy road trip? We’ve road-tested a destination designed to make every family member happy. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ at Tower Park Resort and Marina offers a glamping experience the whole gang can enjoy — including those who don’t want to sleep in a tent.

Located in California’s Central Valley along the meandering byways of the California Delta, this family vacation camp-resort in Lodi is just 90 minutes from most Alameda County locations.

From pools and playgrounds to laser tag and gaga ball, Jellystone Park just might provide the perfect mixture of relaxation and excitement.

Ways to stay: Camping or Glamping?

There are eight different RV campsite types and four cabin styles to choose from, plus tent sites. Cabins sleep between five and 10 people, have kitchens and bathrooms, and come with bedding. Bring your own food, but don’t worry, there is a grocery store for basic conveniences, such as ketchup, s’mores supplies, and sunscreen, and an ice cream shop.

Amenities included at Jellystone Park

Splash and play the day away, or relax by one of the two pools. A waterslide and other splash pad features provide a wow factor for the kids. The hot tub invites tired parents to soak.

COVID-19 Precautions

Most of the features will be open by Spring Break 2021, but check the COVID-19 page on the Tower Park website to confirm.

Want to stay dry? There is a jumping pillow that provides hours of fun–not to mention it’s a great form of exercise. A full basketball court and beach volleyball court are on the premises, too. Bring balls and play with your own family for social distancing purposes.

Lazer Tag course (pictured) operates day and night.

Pets are welcome, so bring your family’s favorite companions and let them enjoy running and playing at the Bark Park.

Big toys to rent

Make the most of being on the beautiful California Delta by renting a watercraft. The property is on a marina, so no need to drive to your recreational activities. Paddleboard, boat, fish, or kayak along the beautiful waterways. On land, if you’re looking to explore the park, or simply get to your next activity quicker, rent a golf cart or bike.

Where and what is Lodi?

This resort is in a great location to explore the surrounding area. Located in Lodi’s Wine Country, there are over 85 wineries nearby, many of which will have outdoor seating. (Bring grandparents here, so you can escape for an afternoon!) In addition, the California Delta is the perfect place for boating and fishing.

Open year-round, this camp-resort is an ideal destination for any family looking for a short road trip. It’s perfect for a final summer getaway if you’re looking for a way to bring everyone together one final time before Fall arrives.

Can’t make it for Spring? No worries: Jellystone Park has tons of fun in store for the summer. Every weekend, there will be themed activities with events like costume contests, scavenger hunts, site decorating contests, crafts, and more.
