As of November 29, 2020, Skystar is closed because San Francisco has moved back into the purple tier — SkyStar Wheel to temporarily close starting 11/29/20. They will be in Golden Gate Park until October 2021 and plan to honor all purchased tickets. They are unable to open until the city moves back down a tier.
A temporary installation of the Skystar Observation Wheel in Golden Gate Park will run from October 21 through December 30, enabling Bay Area families to get a bird’s-eye view of San Francisco.
This oversized Ferris Wheel features enclosed gondolas with bench seating — for your household only — that will take you high above The City for a 10-minute ride. Each car seats up to six people.

Masks are required and temperatures of all customers and staff are checked at the gate. Gondolas have airflow and get cleaned between rides. Automatic doors allow for contact-free entry to your seat.
Located at Bowl Drive and Music Concourse Drive in Golden Gate Park, you’ll want to head towards Fulton and 8th-ish to park. It is at the edge of the Japanese Tea Garden.
