We want to thank Paula and Jade for sharing their insights about Subpar Mini Golf with children. There is also a San Francisco location, but we’re talking about Alameda.
Great for families, Subpar Miniature Golf is Alameda’s custom-built, indoor miniature golf arena on Park Street. Each of the 19 holes is a handmade art installation with adorable and recognizable East Bay details. You’ll also find a good-sized arcade with a laser maze and skeeball, along with a full bar and lots of kid-friendly foods on site.

What to expect at Subpar Alameda
Subpar Alameda is a large space with a fully indoor 19-hole miniature golf course and arcade. It gets crowded on the weekends and holidays. There are local touches at every tee. Whether you are wowed by the full-size VW bug, tall Campanile, the USS Hornet, or the giant elephant, you and your child are bound to be impressed by the thoughtful details.

Jade I. shared her tips:
- Make a reservation to secure your place because it gets busy fast, especially on weekends.
- We LOVED the arcade, so be sure to leave time for that.
- We were happy the course wasn’t too difficult and was doable for my son, who loves mini golf.
- The landmarks and design are so cute.
- Lastly, my husband and I are for sure going back to enjoy the bar for date night!
Birthday Parties at Subpar Alameda
Birthday Parties can include mini-golf and arcade games, along with one or two of the glass-enclosed party rooms, for 6 to 60 people. Full facility rental is also available for super big groups.
The mini party is $300 for up to ten people for two hours. You get a reserved round of golf, private-ish party space, and then time in the arcade.
