Willard Park near Elmwood is a terrific park and playground for families with a large grassy field, tot play yard, and tennis courts.
There’s a fabulous, redesigned, fenced-in playground for toddlers. Push children on baby swings or hop into a creative play structure. The giant tree has framed this mini park and provided shade for years. Ample benches provide comfort.
Afternoons see school-age children all around the clubhouse. On weekends the whole park is busier, and more fun. You can see jugglers, yoga enthusiasts, slack liners, hula hoopers and an occasional bouncy house on the large well-maintained grassy lawn.
Seasonal events at Willard include a wonderful Easter Egg Hunt and summertime outdoor movies.
Grab a snack at the nearby Whole Foods Market or in the Elmwood District’s many cute restaurants.
Note: Many adults without children hang out in this public park day and night.
