Golf for Tykes is a guided program designed to introduce golf to kids 3-4, with parents and coaches assisting children, hosted at Skylinks Golf Course in Concord. Young kids learn the basics: swinging, putting, and sportsmanship in a supportive atmosphere.
Special thanks to kid contributor, Anya Lam, for sharing this program with our team and providing all the initial research.

Where we like to golf with kids >
When you arrive with your child, you’ll find the golf class set up behind the bounce houses. Interested future golfers learn how to set up and take care of their gear. First, kids head to a station equipped with a golf mat, a bucket of balls, and clubs. Once the child is situated and receive some instruction from Coach Dan, they can start practicing their swings.
When Coach Dan blows his whistle, it signals the kids to drop their clubs, grab their buckets, and run out to collect the golf balls (collecting balls was my three-year-old’s favorite part). Classes include short lessons to build new skills and are perfect for short attention spans. Coach Dan is great with kids; his enthusiasm creates a fun environment to introduce a new sport to little ones.
To advance through the program, students have to demonstrate a high level of interest and commitment in level 1 before being invited to level 2. In level 2, your child can now do the “Tykes on Tour” 3-hole foam ball course and putting clinics.
