About 45 minutes from Berkeley is a lush garden waiting to wander in Woodside. Wintertime at Filoli is a popular time of the year for families with kids of all ages, the Gardens come to life with lights and the historic house is decorated from toe-to-tip each year. Open daily from Nov. 18 to Jan. 7 from 10 am to 9 pm.

Push your stroller through the beautiful winter garden or bring your little ones to see the thousands of sparkly lights and colorful decorations. Cozy up to a fire pit — if you can get your people to sit down — under twinkling lights and sip on hot cider or mulled wine.
Santa Claus at Filoli
Santa flies in December 10, 16, 17, and 22 from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Santa will be located outdoors surrounded by his North Pole decor. You and yours are invited to take pictures together. Visits and selfies with Santa Weekends are included with paid admission to the gardens.
The Quails Nest Café is your nearest hot cocoa including a seasonal peppermint hot chocolate. Look for holiday cookies and mulled wine, too. The Clock Tower gift shop is loaded up with old-fashioned gifts like wind-up toys and rocking horses.
