Summer means baseball and my family and I are so excited to have a baseball team so close by now that the Ballers have taken over Raimondi Park.
Who are the Oakland Ballers?
The Oakland Ballers are an Oakland-built independent baseball team playing at the newly renovated Raimondi Park in Oakland as of 2024. The Ballers are a part of the Pioneer Baseball League.
We Loved the Community Vibe
We felt all the love for the city of Oakland and the sport of baseball. Seating ranges from stadium seats to bleachers. As a mom with two kids, I was happy to have the stadium seats with a dedicated seat for each kid. Throughout the game, the team kept the energy lively with audience interactions, games, and competitions.
Fun Fact: When a game is tied after 9 innings they do a home run derby instead of extra innings.
Because this park is smaller in size than a traditional stadium, odds are greatly improved to catch foul balls.
Pro tip: Bring your baseball glove to catch a foul ball — my son is excited to bring a mitt to our next Ballers game.
Food & Merch Options at a Ballers Game
Raimondi Park is set up like a classic ballpark with concessions and merch available to purchase before heading to your seats. Typical baseball foods are available for purchase such as hot dogs, garlic fries, nachos, and ice cream. There’s also a variety of local beers available for mom and dad. At the game we attended there was also a food truck on site serving Mexican food.
Heads up: The ballpark is cashless!
We picked up official Ballers merch by Oaklandish. Our family was so excited to rep our town’s new team and we each got a shirt (and my son got a hat!).
Other things to know before you go to a Ballers game with kids
- This park has porta-potties available inside for those attending the game.
- If you’re sitting in the bleachers, be sure to bring a seat cushion for comfort. Or buy one there.
- No strollers in the grandstands, but they can be checked at guest services.
- Look for the themed days on the Ballers’ schedule: Zoo Day, Fairies Day, and Superhero Day in July sound fun to us!
Attending a Ballers game is fun for the whole family! The park is family-friendly with a play structure right outside the ballpark, which we took advantage of before going to our seats and heading home. It’s the perfect way to get our little one’s energy out before the game.

There is free parking all around the stadium and free bike valet service.
If you BART: Take BART to West Oakland and AC Transit bus 29 to Raimondi Park. The Oakland Ballers will have free shuttles from West Oakland BART to Campbell between 18th and 20th, running every 20 minutes starting 3 hours before game time and a half hour after the game ends!
