Join the Main Library (1550 Oak St. Alameda, CA) for a reading of JaNay Brown-Wood’s newest book, This Hair Belongs, on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 4:00pm.

The first 25 families will receive a free copy of the author’s book. Following the author’s presentation, they invite attendees to meet the author and get their books signed.

This Hair Belongs is a joyful ode to Black hair that will empower readers to celebrate the historical, cultural, and emotional significance of their natural hair.

 

All events are free and open to the public. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Alameda Free Library.
