Here at the {510} Families headquarters, we need a little help. If you would like to assist us for about 2-4 hours each week, doing work that can be done from your own home, during whatever hours you like, please read on.
What our Assistant Calendar Editor needs to do:
- Enter local events that are fun for families in our calendar system. We have a process in place but are open to your innovations.
- Moderate tips and events that are submitted by the community and turn them into useful content for our readers.
- Support sponsored events by adding images and advertisements.
- Curate recommendations for a biweekly post (with your byline) that highlights weekend activities.
Calendar Editor Qualifications:
- Live in the (510) area code and have one or more children under 5.
- Write clearly.
- Have a genuine interest in seeking out new experiences with your family.
- Be adept with technology and (a little bit) experienced with web-based content management systems or blog platforms.
- Be willing and able to use Slack for communication with the 510 Team
- Be able to show up in a Google Meet on time with a working webcam
- Have a recent model mobile phone that takes clear photos and can use Slack
- Ability to consistently dedicate 2-4 hours per week to this project.
- Consistently meet deadlines to which you commit
Compensation:Â $20/hour plus occasional perks such as tickets to local events or destinations. Expenses are reimbursed.
