The city of Berkeley offers overnight camps at very reasonable cost. Our rising 5th grader had a terrific time last summer in the Sierras south of Tahoe. We figured a municipality like Berkeley would also have a lot of accountability measures in place for safety etc. A+ highly recommended.
We would love to have our camp added. Please contact me to let me know how we could do this! We run the camp through the county office of education, but it is a fine arts celebrating 65 incredible years. Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp stands out as a truly unforgettable summer experience for students in grades 5–11, combining high-quality arts instruction, lifelong friendships, and the magic of being unplugged in the mountains for a full week of creativity and connection. What makes Sugarloaf especially unique is its diverse and inspiring teaching team, with instructors who travel from places like Australia, Oregon, New York, Georgia, and beyond to share their professional experience and fresh perspectives with students. With a legacy built on joyful traditions, a safe and welcoming community, and world-class arts programs in music, theater, dance, visual and digital arts, Sugarloaf isn’t just another summer camp it’s a 65-year tradition of helping students grow in confidence, creativity, and belonging.
