Urban Air Adventure Park Massive Indoor Play Space

Located in Concord (anyone remember where the Fry’s building was?) Urban Air is the newest adventure park to open in the Bay Area, and it is massive, with 49,000 square feet of floor space.

Features at Urban Air Adventure Park, Concord

You’ll find a lot to do in this space: there’s a warrior obstacle course, a kid zone for 7 and under, gladiator jousting, jumping basketball hoops, trampolines with dodgeball, and an indoor playground with 35-foot-tall tubes. With an Ultimate pass ($45), there’s a ceiling zip line, two-storey ropes course, climbing wall, and laser tag.

Half the space is dedicated to birthday parties and arcade games (but not too many, thankfully). The cafe prices are average, and the food is okay. Seating for non-participants is minimal, so it wouldn’t be a great place to wander with grandparents.

Our 13-year old play testers liked the indoor ropes course and climbing features, saying, “This place is great, but it is more climbing than bouncing.”

Our 3-year-old play tester was overwhelmed but really excited by the frenetic vibes and jumping.

You’ll spend $40-50 per kid over 40 inches, including $4 socks. The good news is they’re all-day passes, so there’s no 1-2 hour time limit like so many other indoor play areas. Parent tickets are half price if you want to participate, but you probably won’t because the trampolines are already packed—it’s easy to keep an eye on them from the sidelines, except in the indoor playground.

Going on a weekend was not for the faint of heart. Bring your own snacks and lots of water.

Parent Tips for Most Fun at Urban Air

  • You can save a few dollars on service fees if you want to pay when you get there, but do the waiver online in advance (or risk waiting in line twice).
  • There is a crowd meter when you purchase tickets online, so you know what crowd levels you’ll be entering.
  • Height requirements vary between activities, so make sure you’re checking them before waiting in line.
