Join the San Lorenzo Library for an all-ages workshop with Alameda Native History Project where you will make an acorn granary skirt and cap. Drop in throughout the event to learn about the final preparations to stabilize and seal the acorns in the library granary.
Acorn Granaries are traditional Native American storage structures used to hold harvested foods and keep them safe from the elements and animals over the winter. Acorns are the most important food stock for California Indigenous People. They are a gift from the Oak Trees; and feed all the animals around, including us.
