Cantonese Playgroup | Family Meetup

Hi, I’m Sylvia! Mom to a spirited 22-month-old, and on a journey to help kids develop a sense of belonging in their Cantonese heritage and culture through language.
With so few programs supporting tiny tots in their Cantonese language development, this meetup is a way to foster that community ourselves — a local community where our kids can connect, play, and practice their Cantonese together. Whether it’s through conversations with other little ones, cultural fun, or just getting comfortable enough to chat with gong gong (公公) and por por (婆婆)!
Wondering if this meetup is for your family?
Do you have a mixed language household like mine where one parent speaks Canto and the other only speaks English? Fully fluent Cantonese family? Somewhere in between? All are welcome, with a particular focus on kids ages 0-5.
What to expect?
There will be a story time and activity in cantonese at 10:00am PT.
Light snacks will be served.
Cost?
Kids under 1 are free. Recommend $10 per child, or $15 for entire family with more than one child.
Currently donations based. (cash or venmo @lukster)
