The one-of-a-kind, 12-foot-tall, handcrafted Sugar Castle in the lobby of the Westin St. Francis is look-but-don’t-touch phenomenal created by Executive Pastry Chef Jean-Francois Houdré and his team.
The public is welcome and will be offered complimentary hot chocolate and treats while supplies last. A specially designated area in the lobby will be set up for children to write and send their letters to Santa at the North Pole.

Resembling a French Chateau inspired by Chef Houdré’s hometown of Bordeaux, the castle weighs over 1200 pounds and features more than 20 grand circular towers, approximately 30 rooms, illuminated windows, and is surrounded by a charming village and a running train.
New this year is an immersive augmented reality experience that allows the public to explore the ‘inside’ of the castle on their smartphones. A replica of the hotel’s mascot, Francis the Dog, will playfully explore the castle, rewarding those who spot him with a special prize from the concierge desk.
The castle is on display through January 2, 2024.
