Space Week is more than a museum visit—it’s a dynamic experience packed with hands-on activities, rocket building, live demos, and real conversations with NASA scientists and Bay Area space innovators. Whether you have a toddler, a curious grade-schooler, or a teen interested in tech and space, you’ll find something out-of-this-world (sorry!):
- Ages 3-5: Sensory and story-based learning (Wed-Fri)
- Ages 6-12: Science demos, interactive exhibits, and space-building fun (each day)

What to Expect at Space Week
Guests can expect a full schedule of engaging programs throughout the week, including:
- Rocket launching, creative workshops, and tinkering stations
- NEW Planetarium shows and live science experiments

Location: Chabot Space & Science Center, 10000 Skyline Blvd. Oakland
Dates: The entire week of July 30-August 3, including special evening activities at First Friday and a space festival weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
Time: 10 am to 5 pm plus First Friday 6 pm to 10 pm
Ticket Prices are based on which day and time you attend:
- Weekdays: $24 for adults (12+), $19 for kids (2-12) & seniors (65+), $1 for Museums for All (EBT Cardholders), and free for members & kids under 2.
- First Friday: $10 for adults (12+), $5 for kids & seniors, and free for members & kids under 2.
- Space Festival: $30 for adults (12+), $25 for kids (2-12) & seniors, 50% off for members, and free for kids under 2.
