Thanks to Prospect Sierra School in El Cerrito, CA for sponsoring this post. We are thrilled to spread the word about The Learning Center — a new way to support every learner.
At Prospect Sierra in El Cerrito, connection comes first—between teachers, students, and ideas. This joyful TK–8 school has long been known for helping every child feel known, supported, and inspired to learn. Now, Prospect Sierra is taking that commitment even further with the launch of The Learning Center (TLC) in Fall 2026.
TLC is designed for students with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia or dysgraphia—children who benefit from small-group instruction and individualized support. In its first year, eight students in 5th grade and eight in 6th grade will join the program. Over time, Prospect Sierra plans to expand TLC to serve students in grades 3–8, thoughtfully remaining a small, integrated program that enhances the school’s mission while ensuring continued support as learners grow and gain confidence.
What Families Say
“Prospect Sierra is a place where our child truly feels supported and appreciated. The school’s emphasis on kindness and fostering meaningful connections has made a significant difference in their confidence and happiness.”

For the student with language-based learning differences
All Prospect Sierra students take part in all specialist classes—art, music, drama, PE, outdoor learning, and more—alongside their peers. The goal: to strengthen core academic skills while nurturing curiosity, confidence, and belonging. TLC builds on Prospect Sierra’s learning support program, which serves all students across TK–8, and reflects the school’s commitment to inclusion and access.
