Civic Center Plaza Tree Lighting

The free, family-friendly Civic Center Plaza Holiday Tree Lighting returns on December 4, 4-7pm! This festive event features holiday entertainment, “snow” flurries, festive bites and drinks, free holiday crafts from community organizations, and a toy giveaway for 400+ children!

The night of festive entertainment includes performances by The Topman All Stars, a Holiday Jazz Band; Dickens Fair Carolers of the Great Dickens Fair; the acapella group The Dartmouth Dodecaphonics; and the Tap Dancing Christmas Trees. Talented youth performers include America SCORES Bay Area, poets from the Civic Center neighborhood; MoonSchool Performers, singers from 42nd Moon school program; and the string quartet Stars Aligned. The full night’s line up is all led by Boxcar Theatre‘s Artistic Director Nick A. Olivero. The night of entertainment also includes Christmas VIPs the Grinch and the man-of-the-hour: Santa!

The SFPD Northern Station will lead a toy giveaway for kids 12 and younger, and distribute free candy canes. There will also be holiday-themed activities: ornament crafting with SF Etsy, button making with the Asian Art Museum, a LEGO winter wonderland play area with Play-Well TEKnologies and the San Francisco Department of Children, Youth & Their Families; and free books from the San Francisco Public Library. Festive bites will be available for purchase from Off the Grid food trucks, along with beverages such as hot chocolate and Irish coffee.

Also, don’t miss the adjacent Winter Park Ice Rink!
