During Open Houses, Cal Sailing Club offers FREE introductory sailboat rides to the general public aboard a fleet of keelboats and dinghies. Each Open House runs from 1-3 pm. Boat rides are given on a first-come first served basis.

- Saturday April 26 coincides with Berkeley Bay Festival
- Sunday May 18
- Sunday June 29 coincides with the Pride Celebration

- Sunday August 24

Information and tips for families:
- Arrive early, as depending on the conditions and the amount of people, the sign-up/rides may end before 3 pm.
- Children are welcome but must be at least 5 years of age and accompanied by an adult.
- Sign up in front of the clubhouse.
- CSC recommends that first-timers, small children, and not-so-agile adults sail in larger keelboats.
- Bring a strap for eyeglasses or sunglasses, a chin strap to hold your cap on
- Wear shoes that can get wet (better avoid flip-flops!) and comfortable clothes including a windbreaker.
- Pack a change of clothes in case you get soaked.
- You can borrow foulies (heavy raincoats) and a PFD (life jacket, required) at Cal Sailing.
