The City of Piedmont is hosting its 2nd Annual Play Like A Girl+* Event. This free event is a fun, interactive day of getting girls ages 2-18 pumped to try out new sports. Athletes and coaches from approximately 20 different sports organizations will be offering hands-on activities so girls in our community can practice pitching, rowing, hitting, shooting and so much more.
It’s no surprise to you that girls who play sports have better standardized test results than non-athletes, or that female athletes go on to earn 7% higher annual wages than their non-athlete peers. Sports also helps boost self-esteem – our goal with the Play Like a Girl+ event is to empower girls and teach them that anything is achievable!
This year’s event will feature live demonstrations, professional and Olympic athletes, give aways and fabulous raffle prizes. A list of features sports will be continually updated on the Play Like a Girl+ Piedmont webpage. Event takes place on Witter Field at Piedmont High School. For ages 2-18.
