Located near Costco in Richmond, iFlip is a gymnastics-filled wonderland for kids (and adults) to jump, flip, and show off their balance and strength. It offers gymnastics classes, parties, and open gym sessions in its massive space.

All About Richmond’s iFlip
Founded in 2023, iFlip’s facility is incredibly clean and filled with a plethora of gymnastics equipment. Beams, bars, rings, tumble tracks, foam pits: you name it, iFlip has it. And there’s equipment sized for tots, big kids, and even teens and adults.
Aspiring gymnastics can work on developing their skills in reoccurring classes or open gym. Open gym takes place every Sunday for kids ages 3 and up — no membership is required. Two 50-minute sessions offered, beginning at 10 am and 11 am.
Parents and caregivers can watch the acrobatics from a row of chairs that line the perimeter of the gym. There are also viewing rooms with tables and chairs to create a small work-friendly space if you want to answer a few emails or take a call without missing or disrupting your child’s class. During open gym, adults are welcome to come onto the floor to guide little ones to new equipment and help manage taking turns (e.g., making sure a dozen kids aren’t rushing the foam pit at once).

Open Gym Sessions at iFlip Gymnastics
I recently took my two kids (ages 8 and 6) to an open gym session. Park in the spacious lot, then walk through the big red door toward the back of the building. Parent Tip: Create an iFlip account in advance because it saves a little bit of time at sign in, but it’s not necessary. Simply sign in at the front table, put shoes and coats in a cubby, then go wild. There’s no exchange of money at open gym sessions; an invoice is sent to your account later in the week. Easy peasy!
My kids had a blast. There are three main spaces to check out: a front room that’s geared toward preschoolers with a foam pit; a back room for bigger kids with a large foam pit, uneven bars and floor space; and a side room that included beams, tumble track and another foam pit. (If you’ve been counting, that’s THREE foam pits!)
There were a lot of participants but we never felt crowded because the rooms are so large and there’s such a variety of equipment. However, it’s helpful to remind kids to keep a safety mindset. Even with parents supervising on the floor, some gymnastics (little and big) would wander under the uneven bars or onto the tumble track while another kid was using it.
Children ages 3 and up can join the 50-minute Open Gym sessions every Sunday. You do not need to be an iFlip student or have a membership. Drop-in sessions start at $25 per person with the option to purchase multi-packs.
