Welcome the Year of the Rabbit with a Lunar New Year Lion Dance Procession in Oakland’s Laurel District.
The Laurel District Lion Dance Parade and Blessing of Local Businesses begins at the Heroes Ceremony and moves along MacArthur Blvd. Sifu “Master” Lacey leads the Buk Sing Kung Fu Academy of Fremont in Traditional Lion Dance and unleashes two lions with music and firecrackers, and of course, offerings to bring luck and welcome the year of the Rabbit.
The Year of the Rabbit is known to be the luckiest out of all the twelve animals. It symbolizes mercy, elegance, and beauty. Happy New Year!
