Messy Art Day

NOTE: This date/event is in the past. Keep browsing.

Messy Art Day is a FREE community event, hosted annually in the spring at ECPC, where children can explore colors, textures and a variety of media in a safe and fun environment. For children 4 and under, we offer 15+ awesome, wild, (and sometimes squishy) play stations in an outdoor setting. Messy Art Day is all about the process of art, not the product, where kids are encouraged to immerse their entire bodies in materials, from paint to shaving cream, ice, oobleck, bubbles, and more.

Along Ashbury, between Moeser Lane and Waldo Avenue, there will be even more hands-on play stations for kids ages 5-12, along with food trucks and fun giveaways. Check out this year’s messy-art inspired obstacle course!

The event is completely FREE for all visitors and is entirely volunteer-staffed. Advance Reservations are strongly recommended!

This is ECPC’s way of giving back to the East Bay, saying thank you to the City of El Cerrito, and allowing every kid to be immersed in ECPC’s play-based education for one day. Come experience the wonderful, messy, adventurous art-making that children do not get to do at home!
