Starting Your Wellness Journey at Full Moon Acupuncture in Oakland
If you are vaguely familiar with acupuncture, but haven’t tried it yet, or have always wanted to try it, but fear the needles—I can assure you that it is effective and it does not hurt (unless you’re breakdancing on the table, which I wouldn’t recommend).
I recently had an acupuncture session with Traci at Full Moon Acupuncture, and the experience was as comforting as the space itself. Tucked into what feels like a residence turned wellness hub, shared with a few other practices, the environment is intimate and peaceful. Despite being located on a busy street, it is quiet inside.
From the start, Traci created a welcoming atmosphere that felt genuine and unrushed. There was a natural camaraderie as I shared my concerns, and she listened with care. Though it wasn’t my first experience with acupuncture, she was still incredibly attentive and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way.
Like most acupuncture clinics, your first visit starts with a conversation about your health history, current concerns, and personal goals. Based on your unique needs, super-thin needles are placed at specific points on the body, anywhere from head to toe. It sounds intense, but it’s surprisingly relaxing – think of it as your nervous system having a spa day. At Full Moon Acupuncture, both Traci Moren and Dr. Suzanne Lange bring extensive experience to this line of work.
“Suzanne is an incredibly gifted practitioner. The combination of her intuition and healing touch leaves you feeling seen and truly taken care of. She has a fierce dedication to the practice of acupuncture and Chinese medicine and she shares this excitement with all her clients. To work with her is an absolute delight.” ~ Lauren P.
One thing to keep in mind: acupuncture isn’t a one-and-done treatment. Like most good things in life, it takes time and consistency, but the results are worth the patience.
The Full Moon Acupuncture Experience

After my session, my body felt noticeably light and relaxed. Since acupuncture isn’t something we do everyday, Traci offered guidance to support my overall wellness at home. There are also herbs and supplements available (under no obligation), for purchase.
Full Moon Acupuncture in Oakland: Holistic Care for Women, Kids & Curious First-Timers
Full Moon Acupuncture blends traditional Eastern practices with modern approaches that support every angle of your body. From manual therapies like orthopedic massage to facial microneedling paired with acupuncture, they offer services you don’t often find together in one cohesive setting.
Traci and Suzanne understand that looking and feeling your best often go hand in hand, so don’t be shy about exploring the aesthetics treatments they offer for skin or hair. Microneedling is a spa-like facial with teeny tiny needles to reduce fine lines and induce collagen as a safe alternative to artificial fillers (a 15-minute consultation to learn more is free).

“It’s all about meeting each person where they’re at and creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment.” —Traci Moren, founder of Full Moon Acupuncture
The dual focus on individual healing and building community is a standout factor at Full Moon Acupuncture. Each month, their practice hosts a perimenopausal and menopausal support group, offering women a space to connect, share, and talk openly about their bodies—while fostering solutions to rebalance energy, reduce stress, and feel anchored through this complex stage.
Menopause Wellness Circle meets on the second Friday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Next sessions will be May 9, June 13, and July 11, 2025.
