IKEA offers a supervised playroom for potty-trained kids 37 -48″ tall, where children can play for 30 minutes every day (or 60 minutes for IKEA Family club members).
Some days activities in Smaland, as the play area is titled, include a make-and-take craft project. And now, projects and activities are hosted in the kids’ furniture department, too, which is great for those of us whose kids are: too tall for Smaland; not potty-trained; or, do not willingly get dropped off at unfamiliar childcare facilities.
Here’s a sample of scheduled activities for kids at IKEA in May:
- Make a balero in Children’s IKEA
- Gift bag bouquet craft in Children’s IKEA
- Card workshop in Smaland
- Flower crown craft in Smaland
- Necklace craft in Children’s IKEA
The current month calendar is linked from this page on the IKEA website.
And don’t forget, every Tuesday, kids eat free at IKEA in Emeryville.
IKEA is located at 4400 Shellmound Street, Emeryville.

Just looked on the site but can’t find anything. Do they have specific dates for these kid projects?
