Mission Possible: A MLK Jr. Day Celebration

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring legacy, the Hercules Library is celebrating a day of service, community, and action.

Event Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Community Clean-Up: Kick off the day by giving back to the community! Join them for a neighborhood clean-up and make a direct impact. Volunteer positions are limited, please visit: https://tinyurl.com/HerculesMLK2025
  • 9:30 AM – Kick-Off Ceremony: Celebrate the beginning of a day filled with meaningful activities, honoring Dr. King’s commitment to justice, equality, and service.
  • 10:00 AM Storytime with Special Guests: Experience an inspiring storytime with special guests as we share stories of courage, equality, and hope, helping children understand Dr. King’s message.
  • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Tabling with Community Groups:
    • Restoring Rainbows will be collecting school supply donations for local students in need—help support the next generation of learners.
    • The Black Student Union will lead a fun button-making craft station, where you can create your own button as a symbol of unity and empowerment.
    • Contra Costa Transportation Authority will be answering all your transportation questions!
