See the Walnut Creek Model Railroad Society’s permanent H.O. scale layout is one of the most mountainous in the United States, with over 4,400 feet of track covering an area of 1,900 square feet and climbing to an elevation of four feet.
Visit the towns of “Port Allen”, with its busy seaport, naval ships and operating bascule bridge, “Mallard” where, in days long past, the ferry “Ramon” would convey trains of the Sacramento-Northern across the Strait, “Diablo” to view the society’s expansive freight sorting “hump” yard, “Olympia” to view operations of the electric trolley system, and “Thompson Flat” and view the narrow gauge railway as it ascends to the alpine rack railway. Located in Larkey Park, not far from the Lindsay Wildlife Experience.
