How Rabbit Stole Fire: Storytelling by Alicia Retes for Native American Heritage Month
Come experience a highly interactive retelling of the Southeast Woodlands North American legend, How Rabbit Stole Fire. The Sky People are hoarding the only source of fire and refuse to share it. Clever Rabbit designes an intricate plan to bring fire from the Sky People to his animal friends who are freezing. Ages 4 and up. Alicia will follow this story with a special story from the Coast Miwok.
Alicia Mary Retes brings Native stories to life through voice, movement, music, and song. Alicia—part Mayo and Yaqui—is a multifaceted interpretive artisan, naturalist, and story-telling musician. Alicia has performed her interactive story-telling all over the San Francisco Bay Area for many years. Thousands of people of all ages have enjoyed her presentations at schools, libraries, recreation centers, and just about any other location where people gather to learn, enjoy, and be entertained.
