The Jack London District of Oakland will be hosting this year’s Bay Area Mural Festival all week with a big celebration culminating in Jack London Square on May 19th. The Oakland Mural Festival will bring together master muralists and Oakland youth through a series of artist residencies and workshops culminating in the painting of at least nine new murals in Oakland.
The closing celebration on Saturday, May 19th from 12-5 is at the Jack London Square Ferry Lawn featuring youth painting and drawing stations where kids can express themselves and enjoy live music and watch other artists painting live!
Throughout the week, there will be workshops and many opportunities to watch muralists transform the space around them. Periodic bike tours will visit the mural sites. This map highlights the planned activities and locations for Oakland Mural Fest, 2018.
