Oakland Running Festival and Kids Fun Run

With all the housebound, indoor weather we’ve been having, let’s enjoy this excuse to RUN!

April 2, 2017, the Oakland Running Festival will take over much of Oakland with 10,000 runners of all ages and abilities. In 2011, 510Families.com co-founder Heather ran the half-marathon pregnant. So no excuses.

The festival includes a marathon, half-marathon, a relay, and a 5K.

A Kids Fun Run for children under 12 will introduce the youngest runners to the thrill of a road race.

Kids age 8-12 and under start at 8:40am. Kids 7 and under start at 8:45am. All children receive a participants bib and comemorative t-shirt. Each bib includes a parent claim tag so you can identify your child at the finish zone. Parents are also encouraged to run the course with their children. At the end of the race, (claimed) children can head to the Kids Zone to collect their finishers’ medal, snacks, and water.
