A year without birthday parties is kind of a bummer. We've found lots of ways to make the best of it with virtual birthday party ideas, including this trend which hit the suburbs across the country over this year: birthday yard signs.
How Do Birthday Yard Signs Work?
We found a couple different local franchises that rent these colorful, giant celebration signs based on zip code. Not only do they look fantastic and surprise the birthday kid with a wonderful place for photos and cheer, but they also encourage neighbors and passers-by to cheer them on all day — sort of like the front yard equivalent of having a restaurant sing for your birthday.
Jacquelyn from CardMyYard.com in Alameda told us, “We place the sign either late at night or very early in the morning for birthdays, graduations, weddings, and baby announcements. The customer picks the color font; decides on what they would like the sign to say; and picks out a couple of graphics. We add in stars, balloons and other graphics to round out the sign. They are purposefully huge and we strive to fill a yard with a big statement.”
“The signs are a rental and remain up for about 24 hours (longer if a second day is booked). We deliver; set-up; take away. Prices start at $120 plus sales tax. Delivery is free under 8 miles.”
