Join the USS Hornet in celebrating the 250th birthday of the USA! For those attending the Alameda 4th of July Parade, the ship is the perfect place to visit afterward. The USS Hornet will be open until 5 pm, leaving guests plenty of time to find their favorite fireworks spot later in the evening.
An exciting lineup of activities is planned for the day:
- Steel Beach BBQ: Delicious BBQ food items and drinks will be available for purchase.
- The Swingin’ Blue Stars: Catch them performing classic WWII-era hits in the Hangar Bay starting at 1 pm.
- The King Tide Players: Enjoy fun, nostalgic sea chanteys in the Hangar Bay starting at 2 pm.
- Free Island Tours: The Island structure above the flight deck will be open for complimentary tours. Normally a paid experience, this allows guests to see the Admiral’s bridge, visit the Navigation Bridge, sit in the Captain’s Chair, and more for free.
- Arts & Crafts Fair: A local, 4th of July-themed Arts and Crafts Fair will take place on the pier next to the ship, featuring local artists and vendors.
